Before: Family Room |
My friend asked me if I could help her decorate her house while I am living in Virginia. She is happy with all of her furniture and art work (they collect lots of interesting pieces when they are on trips etc) yet she has always struggled with "pulling it all together." Kadie didn't have strong opinions about the overall look and allowed me the freedom to chose what I thought would pull the space together. I knew right away that the artwork above the fireplace would be the focal point as well as the inspiration for the room. The only request she made was to keep the room open and functional for her young children who spend lots of time in the room. I spent one afternoon shopping for a few accessories, I spent a little over $300.00 and was able to purchase pillows, candles, storage baskets, lamps, wooden decorative wall art, and a few other misc. accessories. This room is a great example of how the right lay-out and accessories can completely change the look and feel of a room. Thanks so much Kadie for opening up your home to us so many times over the years. I hope that you enjoy your new space and I know that you will use it to bless many in the years to come. Love you girl!

After: I love the function of these baskets. They are great for storing toys, blankets, and books yet also add a touch of whimsy and fun to the space.

Before: Couch and Chair |
After: Couch and Chair...I switched the chair and a half with the smaller recliner because I needed the bigger chair to balance out the couch. I love how the little changes made a big difference in this room. You can see part of a chair peaking out from behind...that is where all the kids books and toys are stored.
I added a light behind this chair to help balance out the furniture and windows on the other side of the room.
My favorite items in the room....Beautiful artwork that I stole from the wall in another room combined with beautiful fabrics.....long sigh....love!
