From Perfectly Traditional to Trendy and Transitional

I helped Carrie when I first moved to Upland to accessorize her family room in the traditional style she already had. We added the swag curtains, mantle pictures, greenery and some interesting red accessories that you see below. It was a beautiful room and is very warm and inviting.   Recently, she decided that she wanted to open the room up a bit so we decided to move things around and also update her look with a more contemporary and modern style. By keeping some of her traditional elements and pairing them with some new items like the grommet currents, a shag rug, mirror, and accessories. We combined them to make a comfortable transitional style room.

Before: Family Room Focal Wall
After: Family Room Focal Wall.
We moved the red couch to the front reading room and added leather chairs for a more contemporary look.

After: Front Reading Room- was empty before so we added the book case and moved the red furniture here.
